The issue I’m having with being employed

is that someone tells you what is supposed to happen at which time.

Meaning: When there is a holiday in your country or city (i.e. not a work day), like it is tomorrow (31 October 2017) why can’t you just show up because you want to work on that particular thing? So, the lack of ownership and full responsibility for a thing is one of my main concerns with being employed.

Also, someone else (your boss) can tell you when you should be ON and when OFF of work. That’s even crazy the more I think about it and reminds me of my days at being a salesman (in apprenticeship) more than 10 years ago, when I was simply standing in the market waiting for customers to come, and wait, and wait, and wait. I could have used my time better – even playing video games would have been a better use of my time.

That is being employed for me: You are being directed by someone else when your workforce is needed and when not. You put someone else in charge of your time, craft and energy. I don’t like that.
